Prof. Fivos Panetsos

CEO

BS Appl Mathematics, Spec Artificial Intelligence, PhD Biology (Hons), PhD Medicine (Hons). Over 20 years experience in AI applications, brain-computer interfaces, brain pasticity and neuroregeneration and neurorepair strategies. Founder of several high-tech companies. Professor and Director of the Neurocomputing and Neurorobotics Research Group at Complutense University of Madrid.

Nahla Jemni

Head of Research and Development

Expert in Neuroscience and Neurophysiology of the Central Nervous System, holding a PhD in Biomedical Research. With a keen focus on the visual system, she has amassed over 8 years of experience in the field. Her groundbreaking work includes pioneering biohybrid retinas, reconstructing neuronal tracts using innovative biofunctionalized scaffolds, and developing novel brain repair therapies based on silk fibroin and stem cells. In recognition of her exceptional contributions, Dr. Jemni-Damer was awarded the first postdoctoral prize of the 2022 Cajal Research Grants.

Flor Negrete Díaz

Researcher, Industrial PhD

PhD student currrently enrolled in the Biomedical Engineering programme at the UPM doing an industrial doctorate associated with the company Silk Biomed. Specialised in Neuroscience and Neurophysiology of the Central Nervous System. After completing her master's degree in Biomedicine, she joined the UCM's Neurocomputation and Neurobotics Laboratory and the UPM's Biomedical Technology Centre, where she specialised in novel therapies for neurological diseases such as ischaemic stroke. These are based, on the one hand, on modulating brain activity through stimulation of the vagus nerve and, on the other, on the repair and regeneration of the brain using silk fibroin as an encapsulating material for stem cells.

Kimia Alizadeh

Engineer

Master’s Degree in Biomaterial Engineering on a mission to create novel materials for biomedical purposes. Her vision is to work for a future where cutting-edge materials can pave the way for groundbreaking advancements in healthcare.

Noemí Soldado Vilches

Researcher

Degree in Biology and a Master's degree in Industrial and Environmental Biotechnology from the Complutense University of Madrid. She is a Master's student in Bioinformatics and Biostatistics at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya and a researcher at Silk Biomed, focusing on the development of silk fibroin-based biomaterials.
